Megan was born in the United States but loves asking people to guess where she’s from, thanks to her distinctive English accent. When asked where she grew up, she usually says she was raised on two small islands—one in Norway and one in Scotland.

She was first introduced to surfing more than a decade ago while working aboard a sail training vessel in the South Pacific. Although that experience sparked her interest, it was after moving to Maui that she truly fell in love with surfing.

Megan first sailed to Maui from San Diego in 2021. One of her most memorable moments was approaching the island just past Molokini at night, seeing the silhouette of Haleakalā under the moonlight and hearing an eerie, beautiful sound coming from the water. She soon realized the sound was traveling through the hull of the sailboat—it was the songs of humpback whales swimming all around the vessel.

Much of Megan’s adult life has been spent at sea, sailing around the world. When the time came to put down roots on land, all signs pointed to Maui.

Today, Megan enjoys quiet time at her tiny treehouse home in the jungle with her cat, looking out at the ocean and listening to the sounds of nature.
