We are excited to welcome Andrew to the Maui Surfer Girls’ staff in 2025!
Andrew’s love for surfing began at age 7 during family trips to Seaside, NJ, where his dad’s best friend Dave would load longboards into a VW Vanagon for beach days. After saving up from a paper route, Andrew bought his first surfboard with Dave’s help—igniting a lifelong connection to the ocean. His journey to Maui was inspired by his passion for surfing, nature, and healthy living.
Besides teaching surfing, Andrew works at Haleakalā Waldorf School as a gardening and games substitute teacher.
When he’s not teaching surfing or in the classroom, Andrew can often be found surfing, skateboarding, backpacking, hiking, and tending to his garden. Whether on land or in the water, he’s always looking for ways to stay active and connect more deeply with the natural world.
