Tarp Surfing in the Nevada Desert

For those of you that are not familiar with "Burning Man", here's a great example of the creativity at this week long festival at the "Playa", near Reno, Nevada. Approximently 40,000 people live peacefully together in the middle of a desert, with incredible art cars, huge art installations, elaborate camp villages, live music, magic shows, you name it.  The festival ends with a ceremonial burning of a 100 foot wooden man that is stuffed with fireworks.  The massive crowd of thousands surrounds this sky scrapping bonfire.

Heather Nelson, "Hbomb", and I went to Burning Man in 2005 and my transportation through the desert was a motorized skateboard.  I felt like I was surfing the desert.  My friend Art just sent me this amazing clip of tarp surfing from this years Burning Man.  This is what happens when a group of jonesing surfers live in the desert for a week!
