We are so thrilled to announce the return of Jedi! He comes to us with over 20 years surf experience and a compassionate approach to instruction that our students really appreciate. He’s one of the most stylish shortboarders in Maui’s line ups. Jedi truly embodies the aloha spirit and goes the extra mile for his students.

“Some lessons teach a skill. Others remind you how to be present in the world. Our time surfing with Jedi was very much the latter. Over the course of three lessons—two for my 11-year-old daughter and my husband, and another for my daughter and me—we learned far more than how to catch waves. Between swells, Jedi turned the ocean into a classroom, pointing out marine life and helping us notice the rhythms and wonders that most people rush right past. Like any good teacher, he understood that surfing isn’t about conquering the sea—it’s about listening to it. He was endlessly encouraging, patient, and somehow kept the fun flowing as naturally as the tide itself. My daughter especially connected with him, and the fact that he surprised her with a cool yellow hat made the experience even more memorable. Jedi has a rare gift: he teaches confidence without pressure, respect for nature without preaching, and joy without forcing it. We arrived hoping to learn surfing. We left with great memories, a deeper appreciation for the ocean, and a daughter who still talks about her yellow hat and her adventures with Jedi.
