LocationThe camp is located on the scenic west shore of Maui, approximately seven miles south of Lahaina.Our beginner surfer girls will be surfing a long boarders paradise wave called "Thousand Peaks", a gentle surf break that lives up to its name by providing several peaks for a beginners learning curve. Thousand peaks is less than three miles down the road from our camp. Equally as close are intermediate to advanced breaks in Olowalu Valley and Lahaina. With the summer swells that sweep across the south and west shores of Maui, our surf camp is in the ideal location to utilize the many local surf breaks. If the surf conditions are not ideal, Maui Surfer Girls have a fun-filled grab bag of options. Directly behind the camp, a majestic range of mountains called the "West Maui Mountains", will offer the girls mountainous adventures like day hikes to the Hawaiian petroglyphs in Olowalu Valley. Haleakala National Park is Maui's ten thousand foot volcano with wonderful trails running though its mars-like terrain. Here girls can develop a respect for the Hawaiian culture in the mountainous environment. Within footsteps from our A-frame cabins lies one of Maui's best snorkeling areas, with colorful reefs and tropical fish. Here girls can gain a respect for the underwater paradise as well. Locals don't say "Maui No Ka Oi" for nothing. "Maui is the best" for both ocean and land recreational pursuits for our Maui Surfer Girls. |
